About Me:
After achieving two graduate degrees and working in the 'real world' for a number of years, I'm now a freelance writer and editor, but also a daughter, sister, and friend. I enjoy meeting new people, especially those from NH who enjoy this state as much as I do. I'm a lifelong resident of the Hudson area. Remember Benson's Wild Animal Farm? That was my back yard as a kid. Great memories!

I'm a community journalist. I also write personal reflective essays on NH nature. I love black and white photography, pencil drawings, most outdoor activities, cycling, traveling, old barns, and collecting sea glass as I take long walks along the seacoast. I'm always seeking to learn something new and try something that pushes me out of my comfort zone!

I'm part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and love it. Me and my "Little Sis" have been matched since Oct '04. We get together every week for a few hours. I'm also a NH Tree Steward and give volunteer hours for various projects including the Karner Blue Butterfly project. I also recently became a Granite State Ambassador so I can assist visitors to this wonderful state.

I'm a moderator at The Writer's Chatroom where we host authors/publishers/edits/screenwriters, etc. each Sunday from 7-9PM (EST). It's always fun, casual, and insightful to chat with someone 'in the biz'. Awesome way to network, too! http://www.writerschatroom.com

You'll find me there as Lisa Haselton, since that is my fiction-writing identity. http://lisahaselton.tripod.com

Hello Lisa, thanks for the friend invite. It's always good to meet another freelancer. I write mostly for high tech companies, but would love to do more "real writing" (that is, human interest stories, etc.)

Hi Lisa,

SNHU is home based out of Manchester and used to be NH College, while most of my classes were between Manchester and Salem NH. Do you apply any Lean Six Sigma methods to your work today?

Warm Regards,

Steve

I went to the training and had a blast. I originally signed up because I am a serious NH geek. I collect anything and everything NH. It is to the point where my husband just rolls his eyes. There are some really cool people involved with that organization! They are all so psyched to promote out great state to new visitors! Hopefully, I will have some time to utilize my training in the future. ( I have two baby girls right now, so I kind of have my hands full!)

I am also a GSA, but unfortunately, I have never worked at a Welcome Center! How is it? I have had a few kids since then, so my free time has been greatly reduced!

Don't be intimidated! Come visit us over in Flickr. We have a great group with people of all levels of talent and expertise. Got questions? Get answers. The folks there are great and extremely helpful and friendly. We have meetups from time to time. They are mostly small groups that get together when they can. We also have several ongoing projects you can contribute to by merely posting a photo to the group and adding some tags. Easy stuff!

No, I don't and while I know I should read the HNL cover to cover each week, I am often out of the loop because I don't. Is it still online?

Thank you for the information.

BTW...I will be having a showing of a selection of my photos in Dynamite Sushi starting mid next week. Stop in if you get a chance and let me know what you think.

What is a Granite State Ambassador?

As for Benson's, I wish I did remember it, but one of the funniest things from when I first moved here was getting directions and everyone would say, "Go down to where Bensons' used to be and..."

My response was always with a terribly confused look, "What's a Benson's?"

LOL!

No, I'm not part of any writing groups right now... but I will have to check those out! Most of my writing tends to slant in the "horror" direction...
