Looking for New Hampshire History Topics

I'm always looking for unusual or interesting New Hampshire history topics to blog about over at Cow Hampshire. These topics may include a famous/infamous person, a specific event, a location, or an object.

Feel free to let me know what you'd like to read about.

Adam,

Thanks for the vote of confidence that I'm a "good" NH blogger lol. I'm not sure I hang out here, but I do visit from time to time.

Hi Janice,

Just wanted to say hi and tell you what great pictures you've posted. I especially love the one of downtown Manchester.

No problem El. I must say that only the very OLD timers pronounce Nashua as "NASH-Way." When I was growing up I thought it was odd that we said it that way, then discovered historically it was called "Nashaway" in the old days, so my dad was correct. And for the record, Weare is pronounced the same as "Where," making it the butt of a few jokes (i.e. Where is Weare? You want to go Weare? etc.)

I think I deleted your chatter; haven't quite got the hang of this yet. As for NH mispronouncements, let's not forget GROTON (Grow-ton), PLAISTOW (Play's Tao) and WEARE (Where? Weer?). We won't even go to OsSIPee ... Best, El
