Hi Lisa,
Sorry I haven't been intouch in quite a while. My summer has been riddled with computer problems. My computer crashed, then my monitor died, I had to get a computer guy to try and retrieve my photos. I had taken almost 200 shots of Boston Harbor taken aboard the Spirit of Boston this summer, unfortunately I hadn't backed them up and I lost all of them when the computer crashed. What a bummer. Bought a new computer only to find out my $900 desktop publishing software won run on Vista and an upgrade id $300. Unfortunately I don't have the money for the upgrade. It's hard to live on social security. So I'm working on trying to get that.
I had quite a few articles written that I wanted to submit along with my photos to some magazines and newspapers but most were lost in the crash as well. So I have to get buzy again and try and rewrite some of them. I need published articles for my portfolia as writing is a new area for me. I would eventually like to write a book with photos on Old Barns and New England.
I've been working on ways to market my photographs and came up with a great idea to kill two birds with one stone. I spoke with the Kingston Chief of Police and offered to do a photo calendar of Kingston as a fund raising project for the Kingston Police Explorer Post. They were thrilled with the idea. The calendar is all finished and I'm just waiting for them to decide how much they are going to charge for them. It's all scenes of Kingston so I don't think they will have a problem selling them. I took one to the Senior Luncheon and they were really excited about them and wanted to buy them and wanted to know how much. I'm sure I can sell a lot there as soon as I know the price.
We still need to get together. I'm sorry I've dropped the ball on that.
Thanks Lisa for checking it out - If you have any other writing friends who you think might be interested feel free to pass along my Messenger Mini Book affiliate link as I get credit for any who sign up. Thanks so much and enjoy the journey!
Thanks for the friend invite Lisa - as a writer you might be interested in a program that I'm presently engaged in with the Messenger Network - the Messenger Mini-Book Program. We (over 260 authors from around the world) are all writing mini-books together simultaneously over a 60 period. Our inaugural group is almost complete and our books about ready to go to the printers - a new program is starting in the late fall - let me know if you are interested! Have a magical day!
I did attend SNHU - that is an typo on my part; they had changed the name just as I completed my Masters and sometimes mix up the order. LOL, same thing with Granite State College who used to be named the college of life long learning when I attended.
Hello Lisa, thanks for the friend invite. It's always good to meet another freelancer. I write mostly for high tech companies, but would love to do more "real writing" (that is, human interest stories, etc.)

SNHU is home based out of Manchester and used to be NH College, while most of my classes were between Manchester and Salem NH. Do you apply any Lean Six Sigma methods to your work today?
I went to the training and had a blast. I originally signed up because I am a serious NH geek. I collect anything and everything NH. It is to the point where my husband just rolls his eyes. There are some really cool people involved with that organization! They are all so psyched to promote out great state to new visitors! Hopefully, I will have some time to utilize my training in the future. ( I have two baby girls right now, so I kind of have my hands full!)
After achieving two graduate degrees and working in the 'real world' for a number of years, I'm now a freelance writer and editor.
I enjoy meeting new people, especially those from NH who enjoy this state as much as I do. I'm a lifelong resident of the Hudson area. Remember Benson's Wild Animal Farm? That was my back yard as a kid. Great memories!
I'm a fiction writer (from flash to novels). I also write personal reflective essays on NH nature and have published with NH ToDo and NH Outside. I love black and white photography, pencil drawings, most outdoor activities, cycling, traveling, old barns, and collecting sea glass as I take long walks along the seacoast. I'm always seeking to learn something new and try something that pushes me out of my comfort zone!
I'm part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and love it. Me and my "Little Sis" have been matched since Oct '04. We get together every week for a few hours. I'm also a NH Tree Steward and give volunteer hours for various projects including the Karner Blue Butterfly project. I'm a Granite State Ambassador so I can assist visitors to this wonderful state.
I'm a moderator at The Writer's Chatroom where we host authors/publishers/edits/screenwriters, etc. each Sunday from 7-9PM (EST). It's always fun, casual, and insightful to chat with someone 'in the biz'. Awesome way to network, too! http://www.writerschatroom.com
You can find me on Facebook too...just let me know our connection through here when you send a request.
It all depends on my mood. I like country, pop, some hip hop, 80's rock, Christian, jazz, blues, instrumental, alternative, orchestral, reggae, anything I can dance to, relaxing/meditative....
