I've been busy shooting the Lupine Festival up North and the 9th Annual Sand Sculpture along the seacoast at Hampton Beach. Both were a sight to behold. Be sure to mark them on your calendar for next year as not to miss events.

There are so many activites planned around the Lupine Festival and be sure to buy the program book that offers numerous discounts around the surrounding towns of Franconia. These activities will keep you busy from sunrise to sunset with the the beauty of the lupines visible all around the area.

The sand scuptures offer the amazing artistic talents of these full time sculptures that travel around the world creating these works of art. They can earn a 3 digit income creating these masterpieces. Each sculptor is given 10 ton of sand to make their prize creations that are made completely of sand without any additional foundations. Be sure to attend next year and vote for your favorite sculpture.

I have indeed been out shooting! On a Beauty Hunt!! Found a Lupine in a neighbor's yard - had never seen one before - stunningly beautiful - on Concord Street - also some magnificent poppies and other goodies - here are a few shots for your enjoyment!

Rose in my front yard - love the dew drop!

Poppies (can't you just hear the Witch of the West's voice?? Poppies.....intoxicating)

Hi fellow photographers, are we all falling asleep around here. There hasn't been much action on this site in a while. I hope that means you are all real busy shooting for that perfect shot.

Next week I'm hoping to go to the Lupine Festival in Sugar Hill. I have wanted to go for the past three years but something always seems to come up causing me to miss it. Here's hoping to get some great shots this year. Then the following week it's on to the Sand Sculpting event at Hampton Beach. For anyone who hasn't been there yet it's incredible to see the magnificent work of these professional artists. Unfortunately they are only up for a short time and then they are destroyed for safety sake. All that artistry destroyed until next year. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it.

Hi Everyone,
It's great to be back online after 6 days without power. I did get some nice ice shots I need to upload to the site. We all moan an groan about the power outages but in a way it is good for us. It brings us back down to the little things we take for granted and make us all stop and think how really fortunate we are for all that we have today in the way of conveniences. It was a really good wake up call to be thankful for all our blessings. Now stop and think how lucky we were, we could drive to nearby towns that had power to get food and gas. It just gives us a small taste of how difficult it must have been for the people of Hurricane Katrina. They had no place to go for food, water or gas and still years later are unable to go back to their homes and we complain like babies for a week without power. Thank your lucky stars that was all we had to endure.

I made friends with the local laundromat in a neighboring town that was jam packed with so many others without power that had forgotten what a laundromat was like. I haven't been to one in over 35 years. What a shock I got when I had to feed the washing machine $3.75 for one load. How times have changed. Instead of coins they now use what looks like a credit card to run the machines. Of course there was such a run on them they ran out and the attendant had to go around and individually start all the machines for all their new found customers from the power outages. What a boost for their business.

How many of you walked around your house automatically trying to turn on the light switches or press the button on the microwave only to stop and say "You Dummy, no power." My husband went out in the garage to get his vehicle and thought to himself, oh great, I don't have enough problems now something is wrong with the overhead door as he repeatedly puhed the button, then suddenly thinking Oh, how stupid can I be, it's electric. We chuckled over that one. You suddenly realize just how important electric is to everyone and how we take it for granted.

I'm sure nine months from now will be a real baby boom at local hospitals.

Well I hope all of you still without power will have it for the holiday and we can all laugh and joke about the crazy things we did during the outage and found out just how adept we are at coping with local disasters. It makes one think we really aren't that well prepared at all. Maybe it's time to rethink and plan for such a disaster in the future and learn from our mistakes. Happy holiday to all.

Hi everyone, I was thrilled with the recent success I got with my fundraising calendars for the Kingston Police Explorer Post. We sold 114 calendars for a profit of $640 for the Explorer Post. It was all being in the right place at the right time. I spent the entire day at the voting polls in Kingston.

Hmm...probably should have left a comment and not a discussion, but seeing as I don't listen to directions well....

I wanted to tell you all about a contest we're having on NH.com that I think is right up your alleys.

It's a fall photo contest. Whatever fall means to you (foliage, pumpkins, apples, scarecrows, etc) we want to see your photos!

Thought you all might be interested as I'm sure you all have some superb photos you could submit.

Check it out!

Welcome to all the newbies! Glad to have you. I have been MIA recently. I just returned from a very unconnected vacation. No internet and barely and cell service.
