The Secret
So, what's the deal on The Secret? Has anyone listened to the CD? Seen the movie? Read the book? At first blush it appears to be...dare I say it...a very slick, well financed, expert endorsed MLM. Could this be my own ugly-headed cynicism?

I've watched the CD and belong to some email loops that focus on The Secret and the Law of Attraction. It's all about frame of mind and the type of energy we put out with our thoughts. And I think it all gets down to our core beliefs and attitudes. I find that it works for me, and I test it often with little things. The results could certainly be 'pure luck', but to receive money from a completely unexpected and unknown resource just when I need it, on more than one occasion, has convinced me that there's something behind the theory.
Not sure how it can be viewed as an MLM as there really isn't anything to 'buy' except the CD if you can't find a free download (which I did when I first found out about The Secret). Certainly no reason to buy the CD and the book and go to the movie. Borrow it from the library, from a friend, or just hop around the 'net.
It seems more like a community that you can be involved with than a money-making scheme. At least I'm not giving money to anyone for anything Secret-related. I'm an open receiver to all that flows my way, however! And in the past 3 years, that's been a lot. :)
I think it's just the usual "positive thoughts give positive results, negative thoughts give negative results" for the everyday person.
